Hall Of Fame
We are proud to induct
thee three men into our Hall Of Fame. We are indeed fortunate to have
had these gentlemen lead us from our inception. They are examples of
what a good life is all about. Here are their bios.
Frank
"Durk" Durkin
My wonderful wife Carol and I have
lived in the Lost Lake Community for 32 years, 30 years a part
time weekender and 2 years a full time resident of Lost Lake.
During this time my wife and I proudly served 18 years on the
LNPOA Board. I left the Board to create and establish the
fishing club in 1990. That was 15 years ago. The club started
with 13 community members. My first Vice President was George
Schamberger and John Misar was treasurer.
It’s ironic that all three of us have lived long
enough to be given this outstanding Life Membership Award in the
fishing club with my recent retirement. I will continue to
support our present fishing club membership of 68 plus members
and our president Tim Spelde with unique leadership qualities.
The original fishing club objectives still exist; ENHANCEMENT OF
OUR LAKE QUALITY, SUPPORTING THE R.C.D. LAKE MANAGEMENT
PROJECTS, as well as our social events that are ADMIRED and
ENJOYED by our Lost Lake community. It has been a great
experience and a lot of good memories I will never forget.
Thanks again for the great honor.

John Misar
I moved to Lost Lake in 1990 with my wife Catherine after a long
career in the banking business. It was time for a well deserved
career of retirement and building a new log home. I was almost
immediately drafted by Frank Durkin to be the Treasurer of the
newly organized Fishing Club. I served in that capacity from
1990 to 2004 with the exception of a couple of years. Like
everyone else, I do not get enough fishing time. One of the
things I enjoy most is bringing my Grand Daughters to the
Fishing Derby for Kids each year. I have worked on many projects
for the Club over the years such as, Christmas tree and skid
structure, and pier and dock installation. Most of my fishing
has been for pan fish. It has been rewarding to see the club
grow over the years and I hope it continues.

George
Schwamberger
I lived in Lost Nation from 1986-2004 and
joined the Fishing Club at the time of its beginning. I
served as Vice President under President Frank Durkin. As an
active member of the club, I assisted with structure
placement, fish surveys, fish stockings, and served on the
committee for the annual Fishing Derby. I also assisted with
fund raisers such as the Fish Fry events.
I believe the Fishing Club is important to
the community and the River Conservancy District. The club
provides educational meetings and social events for the
adults. Its members volunteer for the many tasks needed to
sustain and enhance Lost Lake. Their example of community
service sets an example for the young people of the
community. I enjoyed working
with the people of the Fishing Club.
